The monumental work that took 3 years to research and compose is finally here! Libera Nos is the first-ever multi-faith oratorio to be performed in the world! Comprising 60 instrumental and vocal pieces, Libera Nos celebrates the fundamental aspects and messages of the largest world religions including Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, with special emphasis on the positives they have in common, such as the universal call for Love and Compassion. Libera Nos is divided into 4 main sections: Creation, Law & Obedience, End of Time, and Reconciliation & Salvation. This major production with 2 orchestras and over 150 performers on stage is led by the renowned London Mozart Players joined by the Hastings Sinfonia, 5 extraordinary soloists, and 3 choirs (including 50 children!). This will be a memorable premiere that you won't forget. For more information and tickets please click HERE.
"Performing Polo Piatti's Libera Nos Oratorio was an utterly thrilling and unforgettable experience. Musically, the Oratorio takes you on a powerful, emotional journey, through the hope of creation, the self-assuredness of shaping our world through laws and rites, the despair of humankind’s encounter with death and damnation, and finally the promise of redemption and joy in togetherness. It achieves this through evocative melodies and rhythms, and passages of spine-tingling beauty and depth. It left performers and the audience moved and elated. Being able to premiere this work was a real privilege and encountering musical influences from so many different cultural and religious traditions -- the result of years of research and intuitive understanding by Piatti -- was deeply enriching. Playing with the London Mozart Players was a real highlight and the musical skills we learned from them will benefit our orchestra for years to come. It was also a joy to share the stage with the children of St Richards and share the power of this piece with the next generation of musicians.” Alexandra Hudson (violinist, Hastings Sinfonia)
For GUitaR & oRchestra
The world-premiere recording of Piatti's Christmas Concerto for Guitar and Orchestra will be released next month. The work was specially commissioned in 2019 by concert guitarist Sergio Puccini and recorded in 2021 under difficult circumstances imposed by the covid global pandemic disruptions. As a consequence, the symphony orchestra had to be recorded in Budapest, Hungary, while the solo guitar had to be recorded in Rosario, Argentina. In this work, the composer approached the Christmas subject in an innovative way, illustrating both, the true significance of Christmas but also the festive mood and exciting atmosphere experienced during that holiday period, mainly in the European continent. The work is dedicated to the magnificent classical guitar Sergio Puccini.
