INITIAL PRIVATE CONSULTATION
The process begins with a discreet and confidential conversation conducted by
telephone, secure video conference, or in person (by appointment).
During this discussion, the following elements are thoughtfully explored:
- The purpose and occasion
- The individual being honoured
- Emotional and symbolic intention
- Character and personality of the dedicatee
- Musical preferences (if any)
- Desired scale and performance aspirations
- Intended timeline and presentation preferences
- This consultation carries no obligation.
ARTISTIC CONCEPT & PROPOSAL
Following consultation, Polo Piatti prepares a refined artistic outline including:
- Suggested instrumentation
- Approximate duration
- Emotional and thematic character
- Presentation possibilities
- Estimated completion timeline
- Preliminary budget indication
- Upon agreement, a formal commission contract is issued
Each proposal remains entirely bespoke.
INVESTMENT & FORMALISATION
Each commission is unique. Investment varies according to scale, instrumentation, complexity and presentation.
A detailed quotation is provided following consultation.
Upon acceptance:
A private commission agreement is issued
A commissioning retainer (typically 50%) is received
Composition formally begins
The remaining balance is due upon delivery of the completed score.
All financial matters are handled discreetly and professionally.
TIMELINE
Composition time depends on scale:
- Solo or Chamber Works: approximately 1–2 months
- Orchestral Works: 3–6 months
- Large-scale ceremonial or vocal works: 6–12 months
Where a commission is linked to a specific occasion, early planning is advisable.
Throughout the process, selected updates may be shared with the patron.
Artistic integrity remains central at every stage, ensuring authenticity and enduring value.
COMPLETION & DELIVERY
Upon completion, the patron receives:
- Engraved full score (digital and/or printed edition)
- Performance materials (if applicable)
- High-quality digital audio rendering
- Dedication page
- Signed certificate of authenticity
- Optional enhancements may include:
- Framed manuscript page
- Bound leather edition
- Archival presentation case
- Studio recording
- Limited-edition pressing
- Filmed performance
A commissioned work often becomes a generational heirloom.
PERFORMANCE & PREMIERE OPTIONS
If desired, a premiere may be arranged:
- Private Salon Performance
- Concert Hall Premiere
- Cathedral Or Historic Venue
- International Festival Presentation
- Distinguished professional musicians and orchestras may be engaged in London, across Europe, North America, or internationally.
All logistical arrangements may be coordinated discreetly.
RIGHTS & USAGE
Unless otherwise agreed:
Dedication rights belong to the patron
Performance rights remain with the composer
Special arrangements (exclusive rights, limited performance windows, etc.) may be discussed
All terms are clearly defined within the commission agreement.
CONFIDENTIALITY
Client identities, financial arrangements and performance details are never disclosed without explicit written permission.
Private premieres remain private unless otherwise agreed.
